A quick creature concept I painted, using photoshop. Enjoy
NOTE: I have no idea why it has "3D" on the title.
I didn't use any 3D application at all. ???!!!
"NightTerror"
On the very top of the food chain, the predator flies high in the sky. They usually come in a group of five to six from up above.
An average Phyllodylain is 4 ft high standing, 6-11ft wings-span, and about 6 ft tail length. Their estimate top speed is around 130 mph.
They navigate using high frequency (sub-sonic) echolocation, except they can actually visualize the surrounding like what we see in ultrasound.
The hunt: They are always out at night because of their sub-sonic echolocation has vast advantage over other creatures’ vision. The darker it is, the better for Phyllodylian.
The most fascinating about this creature is self-generated electricity. The nodules around its neck and tail can generate high voltage. It spots its prey from up above
using echolocation, then fly over and slash it with its tail. Then fly away. This will create a shock in the victim’s nervous system and shut it down entirely.
After the prey became paralyzed, Phyllodylian then come back and pick it up. Easy meal.
Funfact: Phyllodylian has 350 lb pressure bite, very firm indeed, often use to make larger preys into smaller pieces.
